The history of BSK Gravestone Inspection and its development into an expert office for the inspection of gravestones and tombstones:

It all began in May 1999: Torsten Köster – master bricklayer and concrete and reinforced concrete construction specialist – took the plunge and went into business for himself. Initially, his focus was on traditional trade services: surveying, estimating, and invoicing for small and medium-sized businesses. He quickly received the first requests for assessments of construction damage and defects – which ultimately led to his official appointment and swearing-in as an expert for the bricklaying and concrete construction trades by the Potsdam Chamber of Crafts.

In the autumn of that same year, Torsten met Mr. Klaus Theisen, who was developing a completely new field at the time: testing gravestones for stability. The idea took off, and from November 1999 onward, they worked together to further develop and expand this specialized service nationwide.

Since October 2006, BSK Gravestone Inspection has been an independent provider of professional, nationwide gravestone inspections. Our inspectors are all specially trained experts in the inspection of gravestones. This guarantees professional and safe implementation – nationwide, reliably, and in compliance with standards.

As the field of “ gravestone inspection ” continued to develop, Torsten Köster resigned from his public appointment in spring 2012 in order to concentrate fully on gravestone inspection.
